I prefer Samsung brand. If that’s not possible, Crucial, Corsair or OCZ in that order.
[/quote1228129346]I would like to use Sammy’s ram. Would anyone happen to know Samsung’s 2gb module number?
December 1, 2008 at 11:14 am #172406adatay92MemberI believe this is the part number you’re after:
AA-MM3DR26/E
Samsung 2GB PC 5300, DDR2 (667MHz) RAM
December 1, 2008 at 11:52 am #172425bluedMemberThanks, but AA-MM3DR26/E does not appear to be available in usa.
I was considering M470T5663CZ3-CE6 but hoped to get confirmation, or steered towards a better module.

I ordered a Crucial 2GB DDR2 from mwave.com It was $19.00 plus a $10 rebate so $9 if I get the rebate. It’s crucial so i think i will. The rebate was extended until mid december sometime btw.
[/quote1228147920]Very strange. Here (in California) at this store, it costs $26.00 with NO reate and they charge shipping! WAY to much money compared to all the others even direct at my location. Wish I lived where you live…
December 1, 2008 at 9:51 pm #172422lucynethelMemberOK, finally ordered the Crucial and did it direct. Newegg sold out on my Corsair while I agonized. THAT will teach me! Almost chose a brand I never heard of for a quicker CAS rating of 4 instead of the 5 I am getting. But wife wanted the free 1 GIG Keychain Lexar 1GB JumpDrive 360.

As long as you use a 200 pin DDR2 SO-DIMM in either 533, 667 or 800 Mhz, you should be fine.December 2, 2008 at 8:10 pm #172409Richard TMemberCheers just making sure 🙂
ThanksWill order that some time this month and will post bask if it works or not

I have Kingston RAM in my NC10. It’s this RAM here.
[/quote1228251067]
Thank you! Just ordened 2 gigs 🙂December 2, 2008 at 9:28 pm #172417StevoParisMemberI originally had the Corseair, but it did not work at all (was not regognized as 2G by the NC10, only as 1G) and I had to return it to the store.
The After Sales Service said that I should have bought the Kingston brand (they were the ones that sold me the CorseAir in the first place). Works fine
December 5, 2008 at 7:41 pm #172423lucynethelMemberOK, put my Crucial 2 Gig in this morning. No problem! 2 minutes to unscrew a screw and pry off cover, 15 seconds to pop out old chip & install new, 1 minute to reattach cover & screw in. Too easy to believe!

[/quote1228597944]Congrats! See, that wasn’t so bad!
Might be a bit off topic, but for a netbook, I’d actually be more curious about power consumption between brands than anything. Does anyone know if this varies much? I’m thinking the faster ones (in terms of CAS latency) might be pulling slightly higher volts, and hence power….
Probably a negligible difference anyways….
