Has anyone successfully used their Sammy with a projector? When I tried I found the connection didn’t seem to be the best at netbook end & the signal dropped out a couple of times. Is there something I’m missing when setting it up?
Thanks for any advice.February 5, 2009 at 11:56 pm #182742TCMuffinMemberHi Josie
I haven’t, but a friend of mine has….I’ll ask her how she did it
February 6, 2009 at 12:20 am #182744Josie2805MemberThanks I’d be grateful. It would be great if I can get it working properly but there doesn’t seem to be a very secure connection between the cable & sammy. Maybe it’s because you can’t tighten it up with those little screw things (very technical I know! lol) at the side.

I found that when using a VGA cable connected to the NC10, pulling back the screws in the connector allows for a more secure connection to the NC10. It still doesn’t give as secure a connection as one would hope, but it is better than I initially expected.February 6, 2009 at 1:41 pm #182741adatay92MemberI have sucessfully used a couple of projectors with my NC10. Just make sure the VGA connector is well pushed in and then avoid any unnecessary movement of the cable/laptop and it should be fine.
Also make sure you set the resolution of the secondary display correctly to ensure the best picture quality and also stop it flickering if you don’t have the correct resolution selected.
February 6, 2009 at 7:13 pm #182745Josie2805MemberThanks everyone. I think the problem is the cable just puts too much pressure on the connection & that’s why the signal is dropping out every now & again.
February 7, 2009 at 8:38 pm #182746Josie2805MemberSorry back again. Tried this again today & the image from Sammy appears via projector & then drops back to blue screen, reappears & drops out again continually. I’m now not convinced it’s the connection because the signal is steady via Windows 7 (dual boot on partition d). Any ideas what I’m doing wrong??
February 7, 2009 at 10:27 pm #182748Camo YoshiMemberMake sure the cable is firmly connected, I guess… That’s about all the I can provide on the subject, best of luck!
February 26, 2009 at 9:25 am #182749sonysandyMemberI’ve just recieved my pocket projector (sorry for the gratutious plug of myself), I’ll have a look at the connection to the Sammy tonight and get back to you.

February 26, 2009 at 3:09 pm #182751AirwolfMemberI have a Dell 2400MP projector with a native resolution of 1024×768. It connects up just fine. My only complaint is that if you are doing something with text such as surfing a web page or browsing files in Windows Explorer, the text will look thinner or less bold in some areas vs others. I have the same problem with my MSI Wind. I dont have the problem with my Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop, Xbox 360, Xbox, PS2, or Dreamcast. I’m guessing its something related to the 945 chipset.
February 27, 2009 at 1:15 pm #182750sonysandyMemberI can confirm that the VGA output works with a projector. But I agree with the above comments, you need to pull the tighening pins right out and make sure you get a reall good connection.
Initially my colours were all yellow-ish until I pushed the cable right in fully.
March 2, 2009 at 10:40 pm #182747Josie2805MemberAfraid I couldn’t get a stable connection with XP at all but it worked perfectly with W7 on other partition. It must be something stupid I’m doing but for the life of me I can’t figure out what!
