With the NC20 only £70-£80 more then the NC10 I was wondering if its worth choosing that instead.
Apart from the obvious bigger screen and different processor (does it make a difference?) what differences are there?
I understand the NC20 is very new at the moment so there is no much going on in the forums for it here. One reason I am drawn towards the NC10 is because it seems so popular that I shouldn’t have problems getting help with it.
By the way I am a backpacker and intend to design websites on the move so portability and weight is important to me, The ruggedness is important too, I need a laptop/notebook/netbook that is prepared to take a bit of a bashing in a bag on bad roads on a motorbike and at different altitudes, So it sure it going to get a functionality test from me 😀

In other respects the two devices are very similar. Both will run day to day applications fine, neither will run modern games very well. Both have the connectivity you need for life on the move. Both have decent battery life.
My thought is that if small size is an issue then the NC10 may be a better choice. But then the NC20 is bigger if you prefer a little more screen size and typing space. I think it is a difficult choice.
Both are slim light weight machines and should meet your needs. The NC10 might be easier to get hold of if you are in a hurry?
What do other people think?

[/quote1236182441]What about one of these buggers!
Like you said the NC10 has been around a while so it’s a safe option with regards to support etc, also there are a lot of different cases available for it with varying degrees of protection. On the other hand i’m sure most standard 12″ cases will fit the NC20.

What about one of these buggers![/quote1236184934]I took me a good minute or so before I realised you weren’t suggesting the purchase of a JCB.

You can even type one-handed like media villan from the Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies without too much difficulty.
March 4, 2009 at 10:51 pm #185406AdventureRobMemberI managed to have a quick 2 minute play (had to dash!) on the NC10 today at currys. Must say I wasn’t as impressed as I’d thought I’d be. The screen seems a nice enough size but I struggled with the keyboard, and I know the NC10 is supposed to be one of the best for that. There was a 10″ Compaq which had a better keyboard IMO. I hope to go to PC World tomorrow and have a longer play to see if I can get more used to it and if it’s for me, I might have to go for a 12″ notebook.
That rugged looking laptop took down the whole ugly tree when it fell off it didn’t it? 😛
Thanks for replies anyway guys.
