Saw quite a few references here to PCPro’s excellent review of ther NC10, and NC20, but still cannot figure out why the NC10 remains on their A-list – presumably due to the lower cost?
Has anyone seen any direct comparisons in terms of operability, not just looks?
think you will find it’s down to the fact the nc20 isn’t a netbook being 12″ it’s got to compete with the other 13″ notebooks out there where it is somewhat lacking
I would also think cost is a key factor in their judgement (and it is only a judgement!) so they might favour a cheap but less functional competitor over the NC10 because one can argue that cost should be weighted highly in this sector.
And I don’t think the NC20 is necessarily “better” anyway. Performance wise it is very similar, arguably the Atom edges out the Nano (arguably!) though and if you want a smaller more portable machine then the NC10 is on top.
The NC20 is an excellent machine, agreed, but the extra size will be too big for some, but just right for others :).
Bang on Jez
Having owned both machines its really down to personal prefrence. I loved the nc10 but using mainly for internet the nc20 extra two inches and resolution make it a lot more pleasurable and a lot less scrolling.so overall a nicer experience for me. But is it worth the extra 60-70 pounds depends on your point of view.
Personally i prefer glossy screens some dont. As for Nano Vs Atom, in my view it doesent matter, if i want to game or use photoshop ill use my quad core not my netbook. so processor speed to me is irrelevant, both have there pros and cons and ultimately its your needs that matter more than anything
