MemberHi.
Really want to get one of these!
Just read a review on Techradar.com though that says “..As a result, as with all Netbooks, you’ll still need to scroll sideways to view most web pages”..
Can any owners out there confirm if you do need to scroll sideways on the NC10 to view entire web pages?
Apple quicktime movie trailer website for example?
I think I would find this annoying!
Thanks!

MemberNope, most website are viewed without sideways scrolling, here is a example sorry about the pic quality.

Memberlozza69er,
Cool Mozila. Did you change the standard theme which comes with or which version is it?
I seem to have 3.0.4.November 18, 2008 at 8:59 am #169701jez
MemberI think I need to work out how the image resize works, apologies for the forum theme breaking!
I can also confirm that sideways scrolling is not normally a problem. I think Ive come across only one site where I had to. And Ive been using the net a lot on my NC10!
FYI the trackpad has a sideways scroll “area” which can be used to scroll the window left and right – imagine how the mouse wheel works but horizontally.
So anyway, for the vast majority of browsing you won’t have a problem – it really is comfortable to use. My desktop monitor at work has the same horizontal resolution!

MemberI think tech radar are exaggerating in this case. 1024 is a standard horizontal resolution so most pages should work fine. I have not encountered any issues with this yet.

MemberThis might be a daft question but does the zooming function in IE work? I mean holding CTRL and using the middle mouse scroll to zoom in or out (out to get rid of sideways scrolling)?
I’m wondering if the same feature would work with the trackpad scrolling feature? Can someone please try and post the results?November 18, 2008 at 12:39 pm #169707ashesfall
MemberI’m 98% sure it does work but can’t test at the moment. Another feature you have with the NC10 is to pinch in and pinch out with 2 fingers on the touchpad, like you would on an Iphone and that zooms in and out of websites and documents as well.

MemberIE and Firefox zooming work fine using the CTRL + or – keys. Most web pages though have no horizontal scrolling and using coasting for the vertical scrolling on the touch pad makes scrolling though long pages a breeze even though the track pad is not very tall.

MemberWith regards to the zoom – yes you can use multi touch to zoom in and out on applications (the same as ctrl + mouse wheel i think?). As pointed out above this is where you use two fingers to pinch.
Ive not used it much but I have witnessed my browser text growing and shrinking so it does work!

MemberMany thanks to all for the input !!
Definitely getting one of these now (in black if I can get it!)
Thanks so much for starting this web site!! I was writing up a list of pros and cons between this and the MSI Wind and one of the pros I had for the Wind was that the user base seemed to be stronger.. I’ll order my NC10 now though after finding this site as the user base seems to be growing all the time on what seems to be a much better machine!
Thanks again!

MemberThe user base for the NC10 is bound to be a little behind the ohers – it only hit the shelves this month. But is already streets ahead of the others (IMHO)
