my black nc10 is nearly a month old and hd started making a parking type noise every five seconds. Anyone else have this problem? Everything still works ok..just really annoying…used to be silent. think its the fujitsu hd.
should i send back?
nope. been downloading a lot though. Have called just dixons for an exchange. Thought about swapping the hd for something bigger but dont want to invalidate the warranty just yet.
If you are sure it is coming from the hard drive, then your NC10 is living on borrowed time. I have worked on many computers and notebooks and that can only mean the drive is having extreme difficulties. I hope you have backed up your data!
I don’t think your hard drive is going bad cause such noises are common with the Fudjitsu harddrive. You may have installed recently a program that makes Windows write to the hard drive often, most probably an antivirus program but others are possible too. Mine was clicking from the very beginning and I sent it to Samsung for hardrive change. See the end of this thread:
