Tagged: battery, fast start, hibernation, n210 plus
Hi all,
I’ve been reading this forum since nov. 2009 and it’s been very helpful, a lot of great tips. I have previously owned a NC20 (very nice machine!) and have just recently bought a Samsung N210 Plus. I have a question regarding the “Fast Start” function. For readers who don’t know what it does, this is what Samsung says about it:
Fast start, worry-free data protection.
Jumpstart your day with a PC that lets you get started in three seconds. With the Samsung N210 Plus, you won’t waste time waiting to power up. An advanced sleep mode allows the N210 Plus to backup data onto HDD as well as memory, so if you’re unexpectedly pulled away from your computer—even until you battery dies—or power is suddenly lost, all your contents will be waiting for you, just as you left them, once you restart.
I am really liking this Fast Start function, but am wondering if it drains the battery too quickly om my machine. I start at midnight with 96% battery left, then I close the lid and it goes into this sleep-mode. When I open the lid in the morning at 8 a.m. the battery only has 82% left. How much power is this Fast Start function using? A fall of 14% in eight hours time seems quite high to me…
What are your experiences with it? Thanks in advance! 🙂
By the way, this is with a 5900 Mah battery (as the N210 Plus is sold with in The Netherlands).
6% battery drain on my 2 N150Plus netbooks. 14% is way too high.
Are you sure that you battery is calibrated?
Cheers
Nobby
