Hello all,
I just reinstalled XP (Win7 was too much for it) on my N120 yesterday and since then I’m unable to access the internet from the wireless Atheros card. I am now accessing via a wireless card. To date I’ve:
-Confirmed the latest driver, 7.7.0.523
-Rebooted my router
-Confirmed my router is serving IPs via DHCP, it is to my other computersOne thing to note is that I’m able to connect to my router yet an IP is not provided, when I check the status is states my IP is 169.254.27.xxx and my subnet is 255.255.255.0 with no Gasteway or DNS provided. I’ve even tried doing a static configuration with no luck.
Any thoughts? How can I obtain an older driver?

Have you turned off WiFi security?
Are you using the latest wireless card driver from the Samsung Support WWW site?
(The 169… IP address is NOT served by the Router.)

I would suggest starting over.
Remove the non working wireless connection, unfix the IP address and reboot. Install driver 7.7.0.466 then re-boot the router and establish a new connection. You could also try 7.7.0.406
Hope this helps

Thanks for the responses. The router is providing IP addresses to my other computers via DHCP (A mixture of wired and wireless) so I don’t believe the router is the issue. The 169 address is an issue from wireless and wired. The driver being used is 7.7.0.523, what would rolling back to driver 7.7.0.466 do? I’ll give it a try tonight.
___spc___, WiFi security, not sure I follow this question?

January 6, 2011 at 5:31 am #217691camy2079MemberHi everyone,
Still no luck, I rolled back to the 7.7.0.446 driver and then removed the wireless security. I have no issues with my other laptops so I’m quite sure the issue is not router related. Also, I had no issues with Win7 so perhaps I drop XP.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
