I have bought N120 in Sept 09 and only four months later, it started to show some quick jumping black lines on the screen. Connection to the power or not did not make any difference, and the screen got worse from black jumping lines to to the whole white screen for several seconds back and forth. Since then, I have sent the Netbook three times for repair and they have replaced LCD panel-10.1WSVGAGLARE;TN1 (BA59-02503A), UNIT-HOUSING-LCD-FRONT;WINCHE (BA75-02221A) and CBF HARNESS-LCD;WINCHESTER2,V (BA39-00848A). The last time sent to repair, they did not find any problem while the problem was never solved permanently. Lately, in addition to that, even the brightness of the screen changes to a very light screen.
The SAMSUNG customer service insists that because their technicians have not found any problem the last time, so they would not be able to arrange any more repair. Although the problem is there and I am very annoyed by that. I appreciate if anybody could share his/her experience for the similar issue with this unit. Thank you in advance.
Plz go to “White screen (of death?)” thread because this problem has been answered by others before. It is fixed now! Sep 11th 2010September 23, 2010 at 1:59 am #216134gunsu69Member
You’re not alone. I’ve experienced similar issues since purchase and when I finally got around to taking it in to SS found I was 3 days past warranty. Ouch! Anyway, the best way to get SS techs to take you seriously is to video the unit malfunctioning and show them.
Onto the problem, the reading I’ve done mostly points to a software issue which I find completely unbelievable as it manifests even during boot screen. 2nd reason I think its nonsense is that I’ve noticed if I lightly press the middle of the back of my screen, the problem stops, release finger and back. Have you tried this? I note you’ve switched out various parts without success which was where I was about to go. I now won’t as you report this made no difference.
My suspsicion: faulty connector design between cable and screen. I’ll dismantle my screen this weekend and investigate.
Could you let me know if pressing the back of your screen (middle) effects the problem?
