I had a Dell Mini 9… when I first saw them come out I thought it was going to be the netbook for all. So I ordered… they had a good deal for the first week of orders… $420cdn got me XP/1GB ram/8GB SSD/0.3mp Webcam… not too bad… that’s a 4-cell battery, which i did get about 3.5-4 hrs out of. But I started having battery issues where it wouldn’t stay on AC power once the battey hit full charge… it was a wierd BIOS based power management issue. I sent it back to dell as reflashing my BIOS didn’t fix it. Dell only replaced my AC Power cable and the Battery… everything else was still original. I don’t think they tested it as it had the same issue the first time I powered it up once it got back. I called Dell… I was a good 15-20 days past my 30 day money-back guarentee… but they caved in and gave me a full refund. I’m very happy… as I was eyeing up this Samsung NC10 once it came on to my radar. Hopefuly it won’t be too long of a wait for the NC10 to arrive in Canada… Samsung says we’ll see it in Q1 2009.
Nice one, Im sure you will be happy with an NC10!
Where did you get it from? They are not available in Canada, do you order it from the US and get it shipped over? Does that add to the cost?
A few people have asked about buying in Canada so I’d like to add some info to the buying guide!
I’ve not been able to get a NC10 in Canada yet, and I’m scared with importing (incase of hardware issues, warrenty over boarders would be troublesome). Samsung said the entire laptop line (including NC10) will be available in Canada before end of Q1 2009.
That’s a shame, here’s hoping they get them out to you soon. I guess importing is an option but like you know there are some issues around it and you have to be very sure you understand what’s going on.
