Hi, could some kind soul offer me some more advice please? 🙂 I downloaded and installed Nokia’s PC Suit onto my new NC10 yesterday but as an occasional user I don’t want it to start automatically every time I reboot my system.
How can I prevent it from starting up as it seems not to be playing fair? I have on numerous occasion disabled it via File>Invoke at Start-up but it still loads.
I have attempted to disable it via Run>msconfig>start-up>un ticking the file but in will not let me apply the change. I get the response that I do not have permission to carry out that change I may have to be logged in as the Administrator even though I am already logged on as the Administrator in safe mode.
Does the Samsung NC10 have some form of additional protection?
Thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to offer me a solution.
Regards
Carl 🙂

It’s a small application that sits in your control panel and lets you decide what’s happening at start up.
Also from the same author is StartUpMonitor which will alert you if any program tries to add itself to your start up routine.

If you install CCleaner, select ‘Tools’ from the options on the left side of the window and then select ‘Startup’ to show the programs starting at boot.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why I cannot do this under msconfig; I’ve never experienced any problems before now.
February 10, 2009 at 4:53 pm #183237TCMuffinMemberBecause CCleaner is such an effective tool, I very rarely use msconfig.
However, whenever I have tried to use msconfig I’ve never had a problem 😕

+1 for CCleaner; which I recently found out was called CrapCleaner before the name change. 😛February 10, 2009 at 5:38 pm #183238emeowwwMemberCheck too if it’s starting as a Service – if you can’t get access via MSconfig, try Control Panel –> Administrative Tools –> Services and view the Extended List
