MemberIs it possible to install ms office onto the NC10 without a disk drive? And if so will it actually run any good? I’m using open office right now on a linux based netbook but to be honest it’s just not as good as office/windows

MemberI have Word, Excel, Power Point and Access 2007 (I need them for work) all up and running. Performance is pretty good. To install without a CD/DVD drive I created an Image of the Install Disk, copied it to my NC10 and mounted it using Daemon Tools. Installing was a snap from there.

MemberNice one, I might knock up a little “how to” post when I do that myself. Not sure whether to put on 2007 or my previous version which was 2000. I’m not a big fan of Open Office although appreciate it’s pretty amazing for free.

MemberI’ve got DELL laptop and NC10 netbook. To install all the application using DVD drive, I set the network between two machines, shared my DELL dvd drive and thats it. Installed Office on NC10 using wireless network connection without creating disk image etc.

MemberI got the whole MS Office 2007 installed in my NC10 and all applications are running fine. I did not need a cd, I have on a removable drive.

MemberAnother way to install is just to download from Microsoft and then run the install entering a purchased activation code. I have office 2007 home and student (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote) and performance is fine, not quite up to my desktop but good enough.

MemberWell, i just made a network share on my NC10 for office 2007. Then i copied the files from my office 2007 cd and installed it on my NC10.
The performance isnt a problem, the screen size is. Its just a little too small for office. I hided the ribbon, but it isnt a nice solution.

MemberI find you get used to Office on the small screen of the NC10, when I first installed it I found it too small, but since then I’m now used to it after a weeks use and have hidden the taskbar also (and rocket dock) so using the full screen height. In general I find that the way I work with the program has changed slightly in that Outlook for instance I’ll open messages to read them instead of browsing them in the preview pane.

[/quote1227886315]This is exactly what I am going to do.
FYI, for anyone interested Microsoft has a one day sale today for 50% off normal price of office 2007 home.
Great deal

MemberInstalled Office 2007 off of a USB stick – works fine, although the start up time for Excel and Word are a little slower than on my desktop or work laptop.
