I got my NC10 two days ago and I have to say I am blown away by how good this little machine is, especially for traveling. It far far exceeds my expectations.
My wife and I have numerous laptops, including a Thinkpad X40, Thinkpad X300, Vaio TZ, Vaio SZ, etc. The Vaio TZ is also a “netbook” in size but certainly not price (over $2000). It came with Vista, which completely overwhelms that poor little machine. I decided to give the NC10 a try and it completely blows away the TZ in performance. Perhaps it’s Vista vs. XP (and a coworker did downgrade his TZ to XP and is much happier now). But when you compare one at $480 and the other at $2200, it’s a no-brainer.
I have seen the future, and it’s netbooks like the NC10. Bravo!
I bought a 2GB memory card but honestly it was plenty fast without it. Now I’m going to browse the forum and install a lot of the useful tweaks mentioned here.
I am getting mine tomorrow, I am pretty excited about it. I am probably going to upgrade to 2 GB of ram because I intended on running Visual Studio and SQL on it. Good to hear that you are happy with yours!

I upgraded the RAM as soon as I got my NC10. It’s so cheap currently that it would be crazy not to if you are comfortable with upgrading.Enjoy your new toy – it’s a great little machine 🙂
