If I leave my mouse hovering over a button I might possibly want to click, sometimes my netbook makes the decision for me and ‘clicks’ the button. Is this a bug or a feature? If a feature, does anybody know how to deactivate/configure it? I’m running Windows XP as pre-installed.
Thanks.
So if I understand you right, you leave the mouse over the link and you do nothing and then after x amount of time it just “clicks”. That doesn’t sound right to me. Having been through all the options quite carefully in preparation for an article on the touchpad I don’t recall anything like this as an option.
One thing that might be worth a try is playing around with the sensitivity of your touchpad under the control panel settings. Perhaps it is overly sensitive and triggered by changes in air pressure?
Anyone else have any ideas?
Jez, your understanding is correct. I’ve never encountered such behaviour before. You might be onto something with the touchpad sensitivity. I will investigate further and report back.
In the meantime, thanks for your input.
1st Jan – update
Turned down the sensitivity, problem solved. Fingers must be twitchier than I imagined.
