There is an absolute void of photos or videos of the blue version, with the exception of the handful on this site (cheers to these posts here and here). I can’t tell if it’s a true blue or a purplish blue… seems to have a different hue in every picture I’ve seen. I’m not keen on purplish blue.
We need some more photos, like outdoors and such. Major bonus points for photos that include some universal color reference. For example put a few cans of Coke, Pepsi, and Mountain Dew in the picture so anal types like me can calibrate the RGB on our monitors.
I’m envious of you Brits… not only do you have three colors to choose from, but you can also lay hands on the thing before buying….
December 12, 2008 at 4:08 am #175066BeckyMemberI’ve posted quite a few pics of the blue and submitted them to the sammynetbook gallery (though some of them don’t seem to be showing up), all but three of them are mine. You can see the entire set here:

I wouldn’t say the blue is at all purplish in real life. It looks that way in one of the photos, but that’s down to indoor lighting. The true colour is actually a very rich blue when seen under good lighting, as seen here:
That’s the best pic I’ve taken in terms of accurately capturing the colour. Under duller lighting, it’s a deep midnight blue.
If I have time tomorrow, I’ll try to take pics next to some reference items for you. 🙂
December 12, 2008 at 7:27 am #175076mgutzMembertoo bad i didn’t see that before i ordered the white one. i agree with the OP, the blue version in images found on the net vary too much in hue. i went the safe route and chose the white one. i’m sure i will not be disappointed, but that blue sure looks pretty.
December 12, 2008 at 8:46 am #175075UggyMemberI have the Blue although it really doesnt matter. I said “just grab the first one you see” to the salesman.
I can understand the young being keen to ‘personalize’ and you dont have to pay loads for skin stickers etc….
(although the ones on ebay canada look nice for a white one)When I gigged (many years ago), rather than permanently changing my guitars finish, I used to use car racing stripes (sorta Van Halen) and just peel it off when I tired of it.
Hell….. we even took a beatup ole drum kit and covered it with contact wood effect lol
If you attempt amateur paint jobs etc, the resell value is probably gonna be low and you could very well damage your lubbly nc10.
How about getting nan to knit a ‘wicked / sic’ coat for it?
I is gonna do da hobnail boot stud mod all ova’ dis casin’ – ya know wha’ me sayin’?

Mine looks a different colour blue to this, i.e. darker, i think. The earlier pics you made look nearer to mine – perhaps light conditions and the image seen by the camera are more significant for the blue than either for the black or white. Personally, I don’t think the colour matters too much
December 12, 2008 at 3:52 pm #175068BeckyMemberYes, the lighting really does make a huge difference. All my other pics were taken indoors, the brightest ones being directly under a light source, the others (such as on my desk) were more “everyday” conditions.
I actually like how variable the colour is, makes it more interesting. Sometimes I look at it and think “wow, that really is vibrant” and other times it’s such a dark slate you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s merely a blue tint.

December 13, 2008 at 3:25 pm #175073PsychNC10MemberThis may sound odd, but I have been bringing my peal white one to business meetings and getting a lot of compliments. I feel like if I got the blue one, it would look a little “toy like” for that scenario.

[/quote1229246356]The last pictures posted of the blue really do not do it justice. The blue is anything but toy-like. In my opinion it looks just as professional as the black, but with an added dash of style. What kind of blue is it? well, as becky has said, it seems to change hues under varying light conditions, but my best shot at describing it would be to say that it is a kind of slate blue.
December 14, 2008 at 11:08 am #175072SlackadderMemberJust opened my blue one. Got one for a friend and was tempted to sell on but a great bit of kit and the blue IMHO is the best colour. The black looks great but a fingerprint magnet and the white looks like it won’t age well (more toy like if you ask me). The blue lid is very like the darker BMW blue metallic (not M3 blue) and whilst it attracts the fingerprints isn’t as bad as the black.

December 14, 2008 at 12:42 pm #175074PsychNC10MemberI actually had considered the blue before the white, so not trying to hate on blue at all!
Enjoy your blue ones guys 🙂
