I hope you guys can help!!
I am currently with Virgin (Cable) and have set the NC10 to pick up mail to Outlook express. This is Tiscali mail and before getting the NC10 I used the webmail so no probs sending and receiving.
Now I had this issue about receiving and not being able to send email before with another machine, Is their any way I can set up Outlook express/contact my ISP to overcome this issue – picking up email in Outlook and then having to use webmail is a pain!!!!
Thanks,
Anthony
you need to set your outgoing smtp server to that of the ISP to which you are connected not the isp from which you collect the mail (this is a standard measure to help restrict spam)
So if you’re on a cable connection then you should be using something like smtp.ntlworld.com or smtp.blueyonder.co.uk or possibly smtp.virgin.net whichever theyre using these days
Or even better ditch your ISP related mail, get a gmail account and use authenticated smtp from any internet connection without having to change any settings 🙂
Cheers Panman!!
Sounds obvious now you mention it – will try when I get back home!!! I will probably have to find the pasword for the Virgin broadband account too…. will let you know how I get on.

Setup your send mail (SMTP) settings with the following SMTP server:
smtp.virgin.net
Doesn’t appear to require any authentication.
All sorted!
Had to use ntlworld settings but all good!!!
Thanks guys!
