I know it’s me being thick but with nowhere to put my disc how do I load them?
That completely depends – what are you trying to load? The simplest and least tech-savvy solution is to buy an external DVD drive. Probably the best overall would be to convert them to ISOs for storage and using a virtual mount for installation, running, etc.
, if your talking about software cd/dvd you want to load i.e antivirus or powerdvd etc, you could copy the complete files from the disc to usb/sd and install from there. some discs do have copy protection i.e secure disc so in some circumstances i.e games it may not work. this also applies if you need the software cd to actually run the software again in that instance dougs solution above is the best way
if you have a serial number you could download a trial version and enter the serial number you have but again a bit hit and miss
I would get a 8gb usb stick or something and do it that way, everything else download direct to laptop or transfer with stick.
Gonna do office 2003 later.
Some ISO’s will open with winrar and work ok.
The other way is to network to another computer and share the dvd drive with your sammy. You can then install directly from the other PC.
Roxio Creator, PowerISO and MagicISO are a few of several programs that will convert program installation CDs and DVDs to ISO files on your desktop computer. Then you can copy the ISO files to a USB 2 flash drive.
Then you can install Daemon Tools Lite on your Sammy (deselect the browser home page option) and mount the ISO files from the flash drive as virtual (RAM) CDs and DVDs. You right click on the Daemon Tools task bar icon to mount them.
Then they run as if you had a CD/DVD drive installed.
