They have got to be having a laugh……….. haven’t they?
http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/12/10/lidl_offers_not_so_cheap_netbook/
hehe – but I’m sure some lidl customers won’t be aware of what their money can really buy them. I show my NC10 to my colleagues – all IT professionals – and they always “gasp” when I get to the price. I save that ’til last!
So I think until people become more familiar with this class of netbook some may well think that £390 is good value?
It’s our job to educate them!
I’m sure they’ll think “that’s a great price for a laptop” and be surprised at how small their new netbook is when they get home.
I don’t know how many people who shop at Lidl have that kind of money lol. We have a Lidl and a Sainsburys within about 500 yards of each other and only the people with next-to no money go to Lidl.
Lidl are brill for cheap warm biking gear (oh & lobsters)
I imagine some people will buy thinking it’s a good price for a laptop and because ” its soooo cute! ” But they will probably return it when they discover theres no DVD drive…….
I am almost inclined to think the pricing is wrong in their newsletter. Firstly because it is simply too expensive for what it offers, it’s just another Intel Atom Netbook…..but also because they are selling it in Germany for 370 Euros which sounds much more realistic. Also when Lidl sells Computers in both currency zones they adapt the pricing accordingly, for some reason this has not happened this time…
