Strange problem with my new NC10 – it won’t let me enter the @ symbol. Weird. It brings up speech marks instead, so I have to import the @ from a web page via my clipboard to use. Really don’t want to return my machine so does anyone have a solution?
Works fine on my UK spec machine. Might be worth checking that the keyboard language is set correctly.
This is usually caused by the keyboard language being US or UK when it should be the vice-versa. Quickly fixed
If you’re in the UK…
Go to Control Panel
Open Regional and Language Options
Languages Tab
Click Details
Then select English (United Kingdom) as the Default input language.
This should solve your problem.
Yeah wrong keyboard layout, if you press shift + 2 (if it’s a UK keyboard set to US layout) you’ll probably get the @ symbol.
Follow adatay92’s instructions to fix it.
Thanks to adatay92 and all respondents. Problem now fixed!
