Title says it all. It is possible to set the WiFi as being off as the default when XP opens? If so, how do I do it?

Did you try to just desactivate the wifi device ?
(sorry i have a french version of XP so i don’t know exactly the path..)
Go to Windows -> Connections -> (Right Clic on) Wireless Connection -> Desactivate.
And you can activate it the same way…go into the bios. there you’ll have the option to turn off the wifi as default everytime you fire the machine up.

Jayne: I just responded in the other thread (thanks for posting it, BTW). I can’t seem to find the option to save the LAN settings in their last state…only enabled/disabled. Can you give me a clue where else I might look?

can you please tell me your BIOS version. when the machine start, hold F2 then go to the general tab and look for it. i think you’ll need to upgrade the bios first in order to have this feature.
then it should be fine. go to into the “boot” tab. the setting should be there. if not, try upgrading your bios to 04C as my machine came with this bios right out the box. go to samsung support page and download the latest bios. the install should be a breeze. make sure you have the battery plugged in. good luck. if there’s anything feel free to post.
