When I finally get one, since it’ll be black (and the stupid glossy finish), I was going to put something akin to a screen protector on the whole top of the case to prevent those fine scratches. I was wondering first of all if it came with the usual cling plastic cover or not, and what anyone else was doing to protect it.
There is a clear plastic sheet taped to the top and another taped to the screen that comes with it. I would recommend taking it off of the screen since glossy screens are awful, and you could leave the one on the top if you want.
Yeah I’ll definitely take it off the screen. I suppose I’ll just see how the supplied one looks and get something else down the line.
I was thinking of using liquid car wax for the lid to prevent fingerprints. There must be a specially designed wax …
I’m not worried about the prints, but with anything glossy, as soon as you wipe them off you get very fine scratches or marks if you look at it in certain lighting. It’s like swirl marks on cars. I can’t stand stuff like that on my electronics, so that’s why I want to cover it with something.
I don’t shower with a rain coat on and won’t use my NC10 with a case condom on it.
It’s ruins the look and feel of the NC10. 😉
I took the front cover off as well as the screen cover. It ruins the whole aesthetics(?) of it. I bought a “glove” type device which has a lint free cloth side & on the other a slighlty chamois feel. I use the lint free one for the screen & the chamois side for the cover of the NC10. Some scandanavian company I think called TCM?
I sold my black one and bought a white one instead.
I hated the fingerprints and smudges because it looked grubby all the time.My white one looks cool ALL the time and I simply love it.
Wey hey thats another member of white NC10 club then! Ive always been happy with owning one in white.
I can’t stand white, mainly because Apple ruined the color for me.
Typing this from my black NC10 now and I’m leaving both of the plastic covers on it.
I too got the black. I’m not liking the whole fingerprint thing either. I was thinking about a NC10 Skin. Do a search on Amazon and there are bunch to choose from. I just might do the skin thingy.
I think you ppl are being a little bit too gay about this stuff! I don’t wanna have ppl askin whoa is that a new mac? Thats why I’m getting a black one and I don’t care if i get few fingerprints that I can wipe off by the end of the day. You buy a netbook to use it not to show it off! . End of the conversation.
