Can you recommend any application that is dedicated to playing internet radio?
I’ve tried Screamer Radio, but it’s buggy. Winamp is in turn too bulky. I’m going to try foobar next..
February 10, 2009 at 4:56 pm #183298TCMuffinMemberAs much as it sticks in my throat to recommend it, have you tried RealPlayer?
February 10, 2009 at 6:21 pm #183305amokouraMemberHehe, it sounds scary. Is it lightweight?
February 10, 2009 at 7:46 pm #183299TCMuffinMemberYes, it can be. It can also be really intrusive.
You have to install it and not customise it and stop it from starting automatically and stop it from upgrading automatically and stop it from automatically assigning all media types to it, but the BBC use it as a default media player because it does what it does really well.
I hate it because I have to stop it from ‘fiddling’ with my system, but I still use it…..that’s why I hate it ~:(

[/quote1234299562]Try real alternative, it allows real media files (BBC iplayer works fine) to play within browsers (firefox) and mediaplayerclassic without the intrusiveness, there’s also a quicktime alternative both very light as they’re pretty much codec only and work within other media players.
February 10, 2009 at 9:31 pm #183300TCMuffinMemberJust adding a link to real alternative
Thank you LaptopAcidXperience 🙂
February 10, 2009 at 10:12 pm #183304Don_AudioMemberDepends on what you are doing with your systen but i really like iTunes because of PodCasts, Video Tutorials and of course Radio. (and yeah… to connect to my iPod)
But its not lightweight… 😉
