I have just bought the NC10 and am using it on my works destop at the moment as I have left my sammy at home. Its a great mouse, very responsive and the flywheel function is a great idea

I got a VX Nano and I’m very pleased with it. In fact, thanks to the ‘freewheel’ it’s my favourite mouse. It’s small yet comfortable (yet ambidextrous) and easy to use. Looks nice too. The freewheel facility is very clever and allows you to rapidly scroll through lengthy docs by flicking the low-friction wheel. If you prefer the normal scroll wheel movement you just click the wheel and it instantly becomes ‘notchy’ – quite clever.[/quote1228914513]Thanks for that mini review Samuel. I am tempted myself!

December 11, 2008 at 10:56 pm #172847siryakMemberI think I may go for the Nano as well instead of the v470. Considering that I am using my netbook as a portable device I don’t really need the USB ports anyway and the dongle is so small I will never haft to take it out. Also I have Logitech’s desktop version of the Nano(MX Revolution) and absolutely love it! The scroll wheel is absolutely amazing and I can’t believe they are not using it on every mouse they have!!!
December 12, 2008 at 5:54 pm #172832euthymicMemberAnother thumbs up for the v470. I purchased mine in white and it has been working great so far. For me, I find the v470 is found more quickly by the OS when coming back from suspend than my wired usb mouse so I don’t know if slow loading bluetooth drivers is a real concern. Also, it would be interesting to know which has less battery drain (running bluetooth or a usb receiver). I suspect both logitiech mice are winners on this one but I do like that the v470 in white and silver better matches my white nc10 (although the mouse is a gloss white instead of matt).

from Amazon at the same time as I orderd my Netbook. Works perfectly and has a carry pouch.December 15, 2008 at 12:15 pm #172887CJJEMemberI’m using an Anycom bluetooth mouse that’s tiny enough to match the NC10. It comes with a USB charging lead to recharge the batteries. I got mine last year to go with my fullsize laptop, so don’t know the current price.

December 15, 2008 at 5:52 pm #172875Do-moreMemberCan anyone recommend a “silent” wireless mouse? I use the NC10 late at night when the other half “do-little” lol is trying to sleep beside me. I absolutely hate the trackpad and am currently using this Logitech laser mouse but in the dead of night the button clicks are like claps of thunder! (according to herself anyway!) A nice quiet bluetooth mouse would be ideal.
Thanks
D-M.
December 17, 2008 at 10:01 pm #172897StakerMemberI used to have the nano when i had the eee 701, and you think that you should never take it out but it snags on an awful lot of things, my reciever started getting wobbly. In the end i bought a v470 when i got the newer netbooks as they have bluetooth, i dont even need a dongle now. My girlfriend has the nano now and as she moves her laptop round rarely it is fine. The nano is a lovely mouse though, it has the same scroll system as my G9, sooo smooth. But i would choose a BT mouse.
December 17, 2008 at 10:25 pm #172820RsaeireMemberSurely leaving Bluetooth switched on at all times when using a mouse would decrease the battery life significantly when compared to an RF USB receiver?
December 27, 2008 at 12:50 pm #172883JayMemberThat’s my thinking too, Rsaeire.
I looked over this thread about a week ago and had the VX Nano firmly in mind, and it was a good price too at PC World for £29.99. Well, I’ve just looked again on their website and the VX Nano is even cheaper at £24.35 – so that has definitely sealed the deal.
Thanks everyone.

I also just got this mouse. It has worked flawlessly, no lag, high precision, practically any surface. The buttons are very quiet to click (quieter than the keyboard) and feels comfortable. Plus has a thumb button which might be useful. And the color matches my white nc10 absolutely perfectly – same satin, pearly white finish. Looks like it was made specifically for the nc10. My only quibble is that the wheel detents are substantially stiffer than the ones on my logitech mice. I might open up the mouse and soften the detents – I’ve done it before with microsoft mice without difficulty.EDIT: Update 1/15/2009 – Ok, I did the deed… disassembled this mouse and eliminated the detents (wheel clicks). It was no easy task, this thing was designed never to be opened. Takes a T-6 torx driver in addition to a small phillips and straight screwdriver and other tiny pointed objects. Lots of careful prying, thought I was going to break it on several occasions. But in the end was successful. If anyone wants to know how to disassemble this thing (it’s by no means obvious and I’m an engineer), send me a PM and I’d be happy to share — I took a lot of pictures, but won’t spend time uploading them unless there’s a need. Hope this helps someone.
On another note, I’m still very happy with this mouse. The right mouse button has become a little bit louder, but still much quieter than any other mouse I have ever owned (several high-quality logitech and microsoft mice).
December 29, 2008 at 4:07 pm #172888JonBMemberMe too Strider. The little button before the mouse wheel seems to be middle click by default (at least in Ubuntu where it really is important). Also those back / forward buttons on the left edge of the left hand button – love ’em (they work in Ubuntu as well). Only thing I have noticed is that the receiver occasionally stops working (it’s a driver issue I suspect) and I have had to unplug / replug it to get it to work again. I did ask about a blutooth mouse at PC World but they didn’t have one. Oh well… they are expensive anyway…
