MemberHi,
I got my Samsung NC10 today and, like an absolute idiot, I’ve messed it up already. I’m so angry with myself. I set everything up – got wireless worked, linked it up with my desktop PC, etc, etc. Perfect. Then I downloaded a Brico Pack and that’s where it all went wrong…
Now, whenever I switch my NC10 on, it loads XP for a bit, but then goes to a blue screen and restarts…I can’t quite catch the message, but it says something about component unavailable/missing… and to re-install something?
I’m just really panicking at the moment, I just want my NC10 back how it was 🙁
I’ve got the system restore CD that came with it, but obviously the NC10 has no CD drive. I have a 2GB USB stick though, but I can’t figure out how to get the contents of the CD onto the USB stick so that I can boot up the NC10 in USB mode and just try and put everything back to how it was in factory settings.
Can someone please, please, please help me? It was my parents who bought it me, it’s currently 3:54am in the morning, I’ve been trying to find a fix for about three hours now and I really don’t want to mention what I’ve done to my NC10. I just want it fixed 🙁
Any help at all appreciated.
Thank you.

MemberHi Jay,
One option is to press F4 when booting – this will start the recovery solution. Unfortunately, if you haven’t already made a recovery backup (recommend doing this before installing new stuff) then it’ll restore your NC10 to factory defaults.
Good luck,

MemberPress F4 when the Samsung brand show up to get into the Samsung Recovery Solution to recover from the hidden partition that hopefully you created at the start up.
Ooops Chris posted at the same time.

MemberThank you so much, guys. I just did a complete restore and thankfully everything is back how it was, back to normal. It’s a bit of a pain in the you know what, since I’ve sorted it all out once already – but oh well, lesson learnt. I’m just glad to have my NC10 back! Because I’ll be honest, when I was posting that earlier this morning, I was crapping it. Haha! Especially since this is my first netbook/laptop, so I’d been on a bit of a knife edge beforehand, making sure I read everything on here before doing or changing anything!
So pleased now! 😀
Thank you once again!
