I installed the Beta on a virtual machine on my desktop to see what it’s like and I loved it.
I’ve now been running Windows 7 (dual boot with xp) on my NC10 and I just think it’s great. I was never a fan of vista, which is why I still use XP. But with Win 7 i think it’s a huge difference. So much smoother, less buggy and better performance.
I think I will go with Win7 when it comes out as I think M$ might have got it right with this one. I won’t be letting go of xp though anytime soon 🙂

I guess that’s up to Microsoft, after the beta expires the beta installations of 7 will stop working.I don’t know if, when the final version of 7 is released you will be able to upgrade from the beta version. Personally I would air on the side of caution and expect to loose it entirely.
I don’t think there was an upgrade path from the Vista betas.
February 10, 2009 at 5:48 pm #181691jazz639MemberBeen running Windows 7 since the day I got it. Excellent, never moving back. My Vista desktop is feeling aged now!
February 10, 2009 at 7:54 pm #181689asitmcMemberhmmmmmmmmm….Am I the only one not noticing too much of a difference between win7 and vista? I dual boot win7 and vista and I really did not see significant, palpable difference in performance.
Those of you who have both vista and win7, What differences and when, and is what situations do you feel the difference?
I didn’t even bother installing applications and programs on win7 partition because vista felt just about the same.
February 10, 2009 at 8:12 pm #181676TCMuffinMemberTo be honest, I’ve not tried to install Vista on my Sammy, so it’s very interesting that you have and haven’t noticed much difference.
Perhaps worth a ‘Poll’?
February 24, 2009 at 10:16 pm #181685bklynwriterMemberI am just thrilled with Win 7. I’d wish they’d hurry up and release it. My only issue has been with IE. When I go to My Feeds in Bloglines, I am unable to see the actual feeds, only the left side column listing the blogs. I just need to download Firefox or Chrome, but I was trying to give IE a chance. I haven’t used IE on my own computers in quite some time.
