Hi everyone. 🙂
I’ve been reading this site for a few days and finally decided to register. I’ve asked my hubby for an NC10 for Christmas and I’m really looking forward to it. In the meantime, I’ll have to be content with looking at all the lovely pictures and reading the various discussions about it. 😀
November 19, 2008 at 7:30 am #169858jezMemberHi Becky – welcome to the site! How are things in Suffolk? Raining I expect!
Im not sure my Mrs would ever get me a netbook for Christmas but it would make an excellent gift! Start getting excited lol ;)!
November 20, 2008 at 9:07 pm #169863BeckyMemberNot raining today, but overcast. 🙂
Both me and hubby are tech nuts, so we love this kind of stuff. Usually I ask for a new iPod for Christmas, but I wasn’t interested this year. Then I walked into PC World last week, noticed the netbooks display and the rest as they say is history. 😀

November 20, 2008 at 9:30 pm #169864BeckyMemberlol Jez, actually I’m not too impressed with the newer iPods, I’m still enjoying my old 5th Gen. 😀 I’m certainly looking forward to the NC10 more than any other present I’ve received in a very long time.
TheRing – Believe me, I am twitchy lol. I’ve already been told to quit going on about it or I won’t get one. 😀
November 20, 2008 at 9:39 pm #169860jezMemberYeah be careful, Father Christmas is watching YOU!
I’ve never owned an iPod. Although I can’t help thinking the touch ones look pretty good. I’ll stick to my SanDisk Sansahttp://www.assoc-amazon.co.uk/e/ir?t=samncblog-21&l=as2&o=2&a=B000MAK67A” width=”1″ height=”1″ border=”0″ alt=”” style=”border:none !important; margin:0px !important;” />
for now!November 20, 2008 at 9:53 pm #169865BeckyMemberI’ve heard of Sansa, they seem to be doing pretty well in the MP3 player market. I used to buy Creative players until I got sick of them launching a new model every five minutes and abandoning support for the previous one. I don’t think they do that so much nowadays, but I’ll stick with what I trust.
One big reason I don’t like newer iPods is because of the volume cap. It makes them too quiet and I have to run them through a booster. I’ve also heard the audio quality on the flash-based models isn’t great – my 5th Gen sounds a world better than my 3rd Gen Nano.
November 21, 2008 at 8:19 am #169861jezMemberI was very happy with my sansa – I got one of the first 8gb ones – half the price of the equivalent iPod at the time! And (imo of course) better!
Things have moved on a lot though I feel out of touch!
November 23, 2008 at 9:02 am #169866hefMemberthe only thing that makes ipods bad is itunes and that the touch models have tiny capacities.
i’m dying for someone to bring out a walkman with a 250gb+ drive as good as the touch. if i can;t carry all my music around then i don’t care about trying to carry more than like 5 albums at once.
i exclusively use my phone (nokia 6233) as my walkman.
before that i had an asda noname 1gb usb flash drive walkman. -
