the bottom left corner of the laptop next to the ram upgrade hatch seems to not have very much support. every time i pick it up from this corner the plastic gives a little and makes an annoying squeaky noise. im sure its not affecting the components inside but it just seems like very poor build q.uality to me. im trying to figure out if this is a design flaw or an isolated case. i still have time to have it replaced so your inputs would be greatly appreciated. thanks

where exactly are your fingers ? Mine creaks a little when theyre placed on the ram cover or if I pinch it on the edge right by the fan outlet?hi, juancarlos, mine creaks as well, when i press down on the plastic above the LEDs it creaks, it creaks around the fan as well. I’m not a fan of creaky plastics at all so if I had ny complaints about the nc10 – this would be it.

I was accused of being pendantic!mmm, and if you squeeze your monitor, keyboard, hard drive case, toaster, tv remote, ect. ect. it’ll do the same, plastic is just like that, the day they start distributing laptops built from light aluminium as ‘standard’ is the day i rejoice, cheapskates.
first if all i never said i squeeze it to make the noise i said that it made it when i pick it up or hold it from the bottom left corner. so you guys are suggesting that i dont pick it up or hold it from the left, thats annoying not to mention very limiting dont you think? and secondly im not squeezing and checking every square inch of the laptop just so i can find something to complain about. it is something that happens during my normal day to day to use and i just wanted to find out if this was common or not.
My nc10 also makes a strange cracking noise when I hit it with a toffee hammer?
If you’re unhappy Juan, take it back and exchange it.
btw there are plenty of expensive notebooks in use with things like weak metal screen hinges ie your screen falls off

(I dunno if he’s still there as I had to put phone down laughing so much – me bad)This is kind of an old thread, but I noticed that my NC10 does this too. I find it to be slightly irritating. I am not like purposely squeezing the down on that side because I know it squeaks. When I pick it up I can feel a small amount of flex and hear the creaking. If I don’t plan on opening it up would it be a bad idea to apply a small amount of super glue?
Dunno about super glue (might get messy) but is it really that bad? My one seems to have tons of common minor annoyances and I’ve come to live with it. Does your one squeak when you gently hold the metal trimming neat the LAN socket?
