MemberNice site, should be really useful, found it yesterday just had to join. My story :-
I am one of those funny Radio Ham people and travel a fair bit operating Portable. A low power consumption computer that will run GPS Navigation and Ham Software on Windows and Linux and survive for weeks away from the Mains on Solar and Wind Power was the holy grail.
Hence I have been looking at Netbooks for a while, starting with the EeePC’s, nothing quite fitted the bill.
I looked at the Toshiba N10 then the Samsung NC10 and that was it, I decided the NC10 should do all I need.I ordered a Blue one, made the Blue Un-boxing Video, installed and tested apps. for GPS Navigaton, Radio Data Modes including making some Meteor Scatter contacts. Tried USB boot of Linux. Purchased the Maplin Car Power Unit currently on offer @ £19.99 and tested on my 12 Volt Leisure Battery supply.
I started to affectionately call my NC10 ‘ the Sammy’. Google threw up sammynetbook.com when I searched for penetration of my stuff.
Well here I am and here you all are, doing many of the things that I wondered if the Sammy would do and maybe lost the odd bit of sleep over. Never mind, I have already found a few interesting tips and with nearly 1900 members there is bound to be much to exchange in the future.

MemberHi there swradioactive, welcomes. I didn’t get half of what you were talking about with all that meteor contact stuff but look forward to your future discussions.

MemberWelcome to the site? So are you running the NC10 from Solar and Wind Power? Would be interested to know more about that – might make a nice little feature :)!
And where is your unboxing vid you mentioned above – feel free to put up a link and maybe I can find a place for it. Guest posts are always welcome (with links back to your own site/blog of course!)
Cheers.

I have to say that my unboxing took considerably less than 6.35 minutes, but it was Christmas Morning and I’m still a big child when it comes to new toys !lol -
