milarmon
MemberI think I’m the first one on this forum from South America, and definitely the first one from Uruguay.
I’ve bought a Blue NC10 from Amazon.com on december 22nd… It has arrived yesterday at night to a friends house in USA, and it will be on my hands at the end of the month… I’m eating my nails because of the long wait… but you know what I mean…
Greetings to you all, happy new year, and have a lot of great times with your Sammys

MemberWelcome to the site milarmon – almost certainly the first Uruguayan on the forums!

MemberWelcome to the site! Is ordering from North America the only way to get hold of one in Uruguay? Are there any compatability issues – power supply etc – or is it all standard on your side of the Atlantic?!
Thought I’d check Google Analytics to see if this claim is correct. It looks like we only have people coming from one place in Uruguay, so maybe it is just you! I’m not stalking you, honest!

MemberHeh jez you’re reminding me of Enemy Of The State. You’ll be zooming in and watching milarmon eating his cornflakes next 🙂

Memberhehe – he was actually eating Rice Krispies this morning, but close enough ;)!
But seriously, I did consider the privacy issue but Google Analytics doesn’t go into any more detail than that shown above. There is no way to tell what any individual is doing. Although at the website I work for they track every click of every user and can even replay your browsing session!!
I can remove the screenshot if Milarmon wants me to!?

MemberIt may well be better these days, but my experience of IP location is that it tends to be a bit vague and often refers to your ISP’s location anyway. E.g. ip2location thinks I’m in London.

MemberOk… in first place, I don’t eat cornflakes or rice krispies, but you must underestand that I’m from SOUTH america, and we have a different diet than the US americans… Anyway, jez, you can leave the screenshot… it’s good to know that someone “makes his homework” and search on the web for my little country.
And phil, I don’t have much knowledge about IP’s, but I can tell you for sure (because I know some experts), that with your IP it’s very possible to know exactly where do you live, and so much more things. But for that, you must use programs that aren’t for everybody or everywhere on the net.To all: thanks for your welcome greetings… I will be around for a while, and if someone comes to my city, you can count with a place to stay!!

MemberOoops! I forgot it… Buying here is hard because there is no Samsung representative here, and if it where, will be really expensive because the taxes… normally the prices are twice as in USA.
About the power supply: USA has 110v like brasil, and we have 220v
USA has a diferent kind of electric plugs (as UK has another, and Germany uses Schuko’s)
We use an “international standard”, that looks like the Schuko’s, but a little bit thinner (hope you underestand what I mean), and sometimes with 3 “legs”…
Anyway, computers normally adapt to 220v with no problem or adaptor required, so I can buy in USA with no problems
just need a little plug adaptor and that’s it…If someone wants more info about my country, just ask!!

MemberAh well, at least you were able to get one from the US via your friend.
So what do people in Uruguay eat for breakfast?! 🙂
