MemberHello to all
Just found this forum, and have already implemented some of the tweaks I’ve found.
Planning to use the NC-10 for photo editing and uploading to my stocksites while away from home. That way I can stop my wife objecting to me spending my life in the corner of the dining room on the few nights a week I’m actually home.
No doubt I’ll think of an intelligent contribution in the near future. Until then I’ll just keep learning.from you guys.

MemberWelcome aboard, are you a pro tog or just an amateur?
Just wondering what editing software you have running on the NC10?December 19, 2008 at 5:23 pm #175783nmonckton
MemberAn amateur – but I pay for my kit (including the Sammy) from my earnings, and still have a bit left.
I installed Picasa for image management and it works just fine. I’m an Oly user (E-1) so I have Olympus Studio installed for RAW development, Neat image for noise reduction and Photoshop elements 2 for PP (I’m not a great PP’er and elements 2 does everything I need)
It seems to wok fine so far. the E-1 is only 5Mpx so it doesn’t strain the memory. i guess I’d upgrade to 2Gig if I moved to the Oly E-3

MemberNice one, I have Picasa 3 and for basic stuff it’s good. Been thinking of trying PS elements 6 on the sammy. But will wait for the 2gig of ram to arrive.
Had a look at your site too. Brilliant stuff mate.

MemberHey – you’re no slouch yourself. Love the head-on of the buzzard in flight – it’s what widescreen was designed for, and the fallow deer stag is a great use of shallow DOF – was it in an enclosure or were you tip-toeing very carefully at the time?

MemberCheers mate, the stag was taken at Durham Massey, which is a sanctuary, pretty open so stalking is a must.

ooops that was supposed to be an edit on the original but I messed it up lolDecember 20, 2008 at 10:21 pm #175782Britman
MemberI’m happy enough with the siggy lenses, although my 70-200 f2.8 isn’t even on the same page as Canon’s one. The 120-300mm is brilliant, nice and sharp wide open, but I do miss I.S sometimes.
I also have the siggy 10-20 and I love it, gives good bag for the bucks.December 20, 2008 at 11:03 pm #175778fatnbald
MemberI had the loan of the 100-400 IS L for Goodwood festival of speed this year and got some pretty good results with it, bit of a monster to carry around all day but loaded on a decent monopod made it pretty easy to deal with when in use. Not sure my levels of photography can justify the £1400 or so for one of my own though although I do keep mailing santa.
