MemberHello all,
Am one of those eagerly waiting for the NC 10 to arrive via delivery. Am in Dubai and had ordered it via Clove.com in UK and was advised that they will ship it as soon as the new stock arrives in a weeks time!I fly planes for a living and a laptop has always been a “no-go item” (if you dont have it, you dont go!) to while the time away during layovers especially when your body feels 12 noon and its 12 midnight outside! I also ordered a white one, hoping that I get some good keyboard visibility as I update my excel flight logbook in the flightdeck.
Started getting interested in netbooks waaay back with the Psion’s Netbooks. Loved the great keyboard, touch screen and awesome battery power. After much abuse, it is still working perfectly, but unfortunately I gave it up to my younger brother who is in med school.
The computer market in Dubai is a bit slow, with the MSI Wind the best out there at the moment. While I think it is a pretty nice machine, the battery power with 3 cell is a bit disappointing. When I found out about the NC, could not wait to get my hands on it, especially since my trusted Dell lost it’s “s” key and the hard drive makes ominous noises every now and than.
Plan to partition the NC 160G hard drive and put in Leopard to compliment my future plans of a 24in Mac desktop for the house!
Great site, very active too!

Great site, very active too!
[/quote1227700799]Thanks! And welcome to the site! Yes it has been very active which goes to show just how popular the NC10 has become! I’m sure you will be happy with your choice! Are you a British national or local to Dubai? Or from somewhere else? There seem to be a lot of Brits heading out that way at the moment. Can’t think why seeing as the UK is doing so well right now ;)!
I hate flying, aren’t you ever worried about dropping 30,000 feet out of the air? 😛
Let us know how your Leopard install goes! My article to do list includes a guide (along with about 50 other ideas for things to write up when I have time!!)

MemberNot a Brit, nor a local, malaysian actually. Yes, Dubai has a fair share of Brits, my neighbors are Welsh and Scots!
I can bore with stats on how flying is the safest mode of transportation, but the moderns planes are awfully reliable.
With the hours and hours you get from the NC, you can sit back, relax and enjoy the movies you have on the HDD if the inflight movie sucks!
