MemberIf you have white NC10, does the keyboard have a nuance of gray or it’s completely pristine snow white?
I just got my white NC10 and I’m afraid I don’t like the color at all – it’s some kind of dull white compared to the vibrant white of mac books for example. My toilet bowl has better white color lol The keyboard looks like a white+gray combo. The pics available always made me think the keyboard is very clearly white ….
On top of it, the netbook came with the Fujitsu drive, why am I not surprised. I could tell it’s fujitsu the moment I started it up – the typical bubble popping-guitar string breaking sounds.
It’s going back. I’ll see it tomorrow in day light and take some accurate color pics so people know how it looks in reality.

MemberI’ve read many reviewers comment that it’s actually pearl white instead of the Apple white colour. I have a black one so I can’t say this for myself but from pics and other sources I’d say it is what you’re describing.

Memberthen ‘pearl white’ must be an euphemism of ‘dull white’ as I call it ….
frankly speaking looks quite unattractive to me in night lights, will see in the day light
all those reviews about it looking ‘expensive’ and ‘pearl white’ as if ‘pearl white’ is something you should die about, what a lie ….
the blue one I sold was better, although i didnt like it’s color on the inside too – dull dark blue plastic color
samsung should take some courses in coloring …February 12, 2009 at 2:45 am #183482ZPE
MemberThink it comes down to personal choice really. I saw the blue one and I thought it looked decent but I opted for the black to go for the “safe” option as I know at least that I’ll be happy with the colour. 😛

MemberCan somebody with white keyboard tell me if their keyboard looks like this one

in terms of color and details in the key size, symbols and position.
Mine doesnt …

MemberYeah the limesmoothie keyboard is UK
Mine is US version.February 12, 2009 at 8:15 pm #183478Parody
MemberIt’s a kind of off-white, not quite as gray/blue as the Newegg pictures but definitely not a bright white. FWIW, I like the look. My friends have called it “appliancey”, which seems appropriate.

MemberI have the US white version, quite like the color. It’s my first white PC since the Mac Classic 20 years ago, lol. The white keyboard IS easier to see under low light conditions, so I’m very happy—function over form! Plus dust and fingerprints will be less visible…

MemberHow usefull the ‘white’ keyboard is, is not the point in this thread. The point is, it is NOT white but mix of white+gray and many pics of the ‘white’ NC10 only mislead people believing it’s snow white. I think the problem is taking pics with flash turned on, which bleaches the colors and on such pics the keyboard looks whiter with subtle bluish tint, which has nothing to do with reality.
I highly doubt the claim you can see that grey keyboard with grey symbols on it better in low light than the black keyboard with the contrast white symbols on it ….

MemberI have the UK version and I cannot say that the keyboard should have som grey color, the keys are just as white as the rest of the netbook, exactly the same nuance. I still think my Sammy looks great and the white color is in my opinion the best one!

MemberI have the UK white NC10 too and my keyboard looks white with no grey.
I agree that it is easier to use in low light conditions as I have a Sammy r60plus in Piano Black and when im trying to use in low light is very difficult to see the keys .. but no probs with the white of the NC10 !

Even so, are the majority of purchasers going to be disappointed enough to return it because the keyboard is F3F3FF instead of FFFFFF? (Colors determined perceptually by holding my NC10 up to this computer’s monitor and repeatedly filling boxes in a paint program; YMMV. And yes, I know you have decided to return it, but there doesn’t seem to have been a lot of complaints about it otherwise.)You could also send them to Newegg’s pictures; they’re all gray.

I haven’t had to test this yet; one of the main reasons I got the NC10 was because the keyboard has the right layout and close enough size that I can touch-type on it. (I’d already gotten used to laptop touch-typing from my large laptop.)February 13, 2009 at 3:43 pm #183475summertan
MemberBy white I mean snow-white, Mac-book white or official business paper white. Just hold a normal business white paper to the keyboard and tell me if it’s the same color. This is an objective test not a matter of opinion…
I don’t think there is white NC10, in UK or USA, cause I’ve seen pics of the same NC10 that look white ( I guess with flash) and then look grayish white (without flash).
The color does matter to me cause paper-like white is way more attractive than the dull grey white they put for the keyboard. Samsung designers must be blind really ….
The same applies to the other colored versions. The outside of the notebook is attractive, the inside is some dull plastic color. I had the blue one so speaking from experience. It looks expensive when closed, the moment you open it, it looks plastic and cheap.

MemberI sold my black for white and I love the pearl white colour.

MemberAs already stated the white version is not supposed to be as white as a celebrities teeth. It is meant to pearl white by design:)
I love it, doesn’t show much dirt and doesn’t have a glossy lid:)
