Is it possible to upgrade the samsung nc10 to play this came?
I bought this game Call Of Duty V – WorldatWar
but it seems like the netbook’s video card or driver doesn’t support ubyte4n vertex data.the requirements for the game is
Processor: AMD 64 3200+/Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz or better
Hard drive: 8 GB free hard drive space
Memory: 512MB RAM (XP)/1GB RAM (VISTA)
Graphics: Shader 3.0 or better, 256MB Nvidia Geforce 6600GT/ATI Radeon 1600XT or betterDecember 17, 2008 at 3:58 am #175982kadathMemberNo. The NC10 uses integrated Intel graphics.

December 17, 2008 at 8:01 am #175984SzabsMemberLOL. Buy a desktop if you wanna play crysis 🙂
December 17, 2008 at 10:24 am #175972jezMemberYeah, check our NC10 faq. Modern fps games have little to no chance of running. You need to go back a few years. There are plenty of older games that will work well and are still very enjoyable!
To be honest playing modern fps games on a 10″ screen won’t me that much fun anyway – your targets will be tiny little dots. A sure fire way to strain your eyes!

Best to dig out the old games or get into the bargin bin at PCworld.

December 17, 2008 at 10:05 pm #175976WilliamYZFMemberI am getting braver, in one of my first posts I suggested a console for playing games and I was called a troll.
Netbooks are not intended to be a gaming platform. I remember when a universal upgradeable slot for graphics cards on laptops was talked about but unsure if it ever happened.
Call of Duty WAW is awesome on the 360, unfortunately I have now finished it.
Each to their own but IMHO a 360, big screen, with a decent 5.1 Dolby setup is what you should get for games, not a netbook

[/quote1229552646]I don’t understand why anyone would bash you or call you a troll – I also can’t imagine why anyone would buy a netbook with the initial thought of being able to play modern games (newer than ’04.) It’s what I do – I can run games like Total Annihilation, Red Alert 2, System Shock 2, older games from GOG. But my primary gaming is now on my 360.
December 17, 2008 at 10:25 pm #175981s162000MemberAfter hearing about the mess that is GTA 4 on pc I am regrettably going to join the dark side and get an XBOX 360 (sigh) I hardly touch my desktop now I have my NC10

[/quote1229553071]Thanks, I gave up gaming on PC’s many years ago – It was costing too much money every time a new game came out.
I have a 360, a good a/v receiver, great 5.1 speakers and a 46″ HDTV, THATS GAMING! The netbook for me is cheap & is for internet and Office, thats about it.
I have to say a question about upgrading the graphics card on an NC10 is almost amusing. Apologies in advance.

[/quote1229554060]I don’t think you will regret it, although I bought the 360 GTA4 it didn’t really float my boat. I must be a COD fan as I have completed all of them. I tried online but its too savage and I am usually the victim!
Even if were possible I cannot imagine playing these games on a small screen and you need 5.1 to work out where they are coming from.
December 18, 2008 at 12:53 am #175985soutthpawMembermy PS3 is my gaming machine….. I just see more sense in buying a machine designed for the purpose you are using it for… I always thought it funny how people bagged on the cost of the PS3 or even xbox when it would cost 5 to 10 time that cost to get a PC that will run the same kind of graphics as a next gen console. I gotta try my old heli games like SAR 3 and Commanche on the netbook… still have a cool but very dusty saitek Joystick in the basement. Loved that joystick cuz it was so customizable and southpaw friendly…. anyone know of a pc game like field commander for PSP or advance wars on the old GBA

“5 to 10 time that” is a bit of an exaggeration, but I understand what you mean. At the time, it did cost a lot more for a PC to produce the graphics quality of either the Xbox 360 or the PS3. Luckily that isn’t the case now, with even low-end systems capable of as good, and sometimes better, graphics quality than either console. In saying that, it is a few years since either console was launched, so it was inevitable that this would happen. -
