Hello,
Has anyone tried GPS / SatNav on their Sammy – and if so, what software (freeware better) have you used, or can recommend.
I have a bluetooth GPS receiver that I used to use with my old mobile phone (before getting a Blackberry with built in chip) …. there is no reason why that shouldn@t pair with my Sammy.
But having paired the devices, I will need some software to turn the location into something on a map, and that can offer the usual mapping services.
Thanks.
I can’t offer any insight into that, however, I will be very interested to see what is available out there for GPS-Sammy combos.
It would be even more interesting if you could use an app, like Locr, with the GPS module and webcam of the NC10 to geo-tag your pictures.
Honestly, there are endless options for this little netbook that could! 😀
I have tried both Microsoft Streets & Trips and Delorme Street Atlas with both Bluetooth and Wired GPS hardware and both work just fine.
I do not know of any good freeware apps,I already had the other two.

Would you be interested in testing geo-tagging software along with the NC10’s webcam and letting us know how you get on? I would do it myself, but I don’t have a GPS module.
I have been messing with this now for an hour and evidently I do not have the correct type of Datalogging GPS?
Mine is a simple GPS but does not do logging which is how I understand this software creates the Tags.
Apparently it compares a GPS log with the time the photo was snapped and decides on the location to tag between them.
Seems a little bizarre to me that this is how it does it but what do I know?
Anyway,The GPS does work fine and the Sammy likes what it sees for general mapping functions with the hardware I have.
