GOG.com – Good Old Games

Check it out. Lots of good old games that are supposedly modified to work on XP and Vista. I am interested in Descent 1&2 as well as Descent 3, but I think it might be kinda crappy if not 3D accelerated, etc.

For one, look at the comments. They all look fake. Seriously, who writes “Wow! Six-Axis of Freedom!” in a comment? That chaps my as$ but I might try one since they only cost $5.99

I tried the free ones, they kinda sucked. I can’t stand chunky graphics myself. Let me know if anyone used this site before.

I’ve used GOG since beta – I have Fallout 1&2 from there. I personally feel that it’s really for people who played the games in the past.

Hmm good find I might have to get the Fallout games. They take Paypal which is good. I’m trying to get hold of a copy of Starship Titanic as well

Descent 3 will work fine. GTA Vice City plays well which is about 4 years newer than Descent 3. Quake 3 which was released around the same time plays flawlessly at 1024×600. I think the rule is that any 3d games of about 4 of 5 years ago or older are easily playable.
