I believe that Halo:CE runs smoothly (I have installed it on my nc10). Just be sure to set the resolution to the lowest (I think it’s 800×640?) and most of the other visual setting to low or none. Believe me, the changed settings don’t affect gameplay and it doesn’t look any different than from my desktop.
January 4, 2009 at 6:50 pm #168525killiedelMemberi have just go World of Goo – great game!
Is there any way to make it play widescreen?
January 5, 2009 at 6:42 am #168552CEUOTCMemberStar Wars: Empire at war
Runs on 800*600 and 1024*600
Lowest setting’s does “freeze” however from time to time during intense space battles.
Will try again once l have fitted 2gig and played with the chipset/GC drivers.
Is playable tho.
Update, with 2gig of ram fitted Star Wars: Empire at war playable at 800*600 some slow down when space battle are big nothing major tho 🙂
January 10, 2009 at 11:56 pm #168560deadkennyMemberSecond Life (on XP) – runs fine in a window and full screen at 1024×600. Detects the resolution fine and offers it as a resolution, plus it auto detects the screen ratio.
Slow though and very slow in busy locations, but then that’s typical of Second Life I find (I don’t have high powered gaming rigs though).
January 12, 2009 at 11:07 am #168534mossieMemberGood to know that Second Life works! I have collected my nc10 last week and I love it! Since then I have tried Sudden Strike II and Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines. Both playable.
But the most importatnt for me is that MS Flight Simulator 2004 works on this machine! I have just installed it and it runs smoothly at 1024×600. Detail settings were set automatically to medium-low (probably some adjustments possible) but looks fine.

lol – suppose you can be the ultimate in sad and do a synchronised flight sim of the flight you’re actually on when travelling. Then again, you’ll probably be marked as a terrorist planning to hijack the plane or something ! 😉January 12, 2009 at 6:25 pm #168530TafKasMember@ Kenny0070, Hi mate, just how well did Dawn Of War and the expansions run? I wouldnt mind buying the complete pack but dont want to wast the money if its only just playable. TIA!

[/quote1231795045]Dawn of war is very playable at 800×600 and model and texture detail set to medium
all other settings on low.Dark crusade will let you play at 1024×600 with the same settings as dawn of war and
it plays very smoothly. If your not sure try the demo first i think you can get it from steam.

Smokin Guns Wild West style FPS. Coool…January 14, 2009 at 10:16 am #168542BluebirdNC10MemberJust installed Steam and Trackmania Nations Forever.
That runs….may need a bit of tweaking to get it to absolute perfect.
can’t decide whether it runs better fullscreen or in a window as it gives you the option for either….
January 18, 2009 at 11:16 am #168518s162000MemberLemmings for Windows 95 runs fine!
January 18, 2009 at 12:09 pm #168519tallpaulMemberChessmaster:grandmaster Edition from Ubisoft also works perfectly. Just have to arrange the furniture and move the board to its correct position and there are no problems.
January 19, 2009 at 4:52 pm #168564Dom01MemberIn my mind DOW is not really playable! I have played a lot of it on my Desk Top (P4 2.8 gig of ram and Nvidia 6800GT) and when it gets busy it gets a bit jerky! The NC10 tricked me as it started off running great and I was amased but it got jerky pretty soon and got jerky enough to stop me enjoying it. I’m not going to say its unplayable but I feel it is more fun to just play another game that is nice and smooth!
If you want a 3d RTS game then get Age of Mythology! It looks fantastic and only gets a little jerky when very busy! (6 players all in the same fight)
I play these things in multi player only tbh so maybe singel player is diferent but I doubt it!
