Found an interesting page listing games that work (and don’t work) with the MSI Wind – should be pretty similar results on the NC10.
December 5, 2008 at 1:10 am #168508bobbyMemberthey state that “RollerCoaster Tycoon 2” has “(low frame rate) ” which is untrue on the nc10. it is incredibly smooth even with a park full of rides and thousands of guests on the screen at one time.
+mafia does work on the nc10 but the integerated chip does a poor job on draw distances which is essential in the game when your driving away from cops and need to see the traffic ahead of you at high speed.
++weirdly enough the 950gm chipset does a better job on san andreas for me and has longerdraw distance in congested areas of the game, it slows down when in the air or driving through mountanous areas but is still playable.

[/quote1228465358]Cool I might have to check that out then thanks for the info. By the way here is a site which offers tweaks for GMA graphics: Intel 9xx Gaming Worth a try? Anyone else been enjoying trawling the second hand shelves and bargain bins for old PC games? Picked up Max Payne 1 for £2!!
December 5, 2008 at 12:45 pm #168524UggyMemberI’m wondering if you can assign the Speed Mode automatically to a program/game when launched?
Just for a test, I installed Unreal Tournament 2003 and although its not my kind of game, it runs smooth.
Sniper Elite was brill – now to get it back after loaning to bro a year ago lol

December 6, 2008 at 3:59 pm #168486BeckyMemberSims Life Stories works and has native support for 1024×600 resolution. Have to run it on minimal settings and it’s a bit sluggish when moving around and zooming in/out but perfectly playable.
December 6, 2008 at 5:37 pm #168522SzabsMemberUFO Alien Invasion 🙂
December 6, 2008 at 9:25 pm #168526MrBeardyMemberI got Medal of Honour: Allied Assault and expansion packs running, and in widescreen. Performance isnt great, but acceptable.
Call of Duty plus expansion running acceptably in widescreen too.
Also, Need for Speed: Hot pursuit 2 runs very nicely, and natively in widescreen.I got Rise of Nations running too, but needing to set the screen to 1024×768 makes it really annoying having to scroll the screen. Runs well though.
Just in case there are any fellow Harpoon nuts out there, it runs nicely too, but how could it not…
December 7, 2008 at 7:08 pm #168515s162000MemberI found Call Of Duty to be pretty unplayable. Just got a copy of Sim City 4 and it runs nice on the auto-settings
December 16, 2008 at 11:36 am #168528andersonxMemberTested: Medal of Honor – Allied Assault.
Runs perfectly, very very well.
December 17, 2008 at 12:08 am #168483motherMemberRome Total War works well at 1024×600 with settings on low. Very little lag.
December 18, 2008 at 12:05 am #168503AlfiharParticipantCommand and Conquer Tiberian Sun: works well and can be easily made to run at 1024×600 by editing an ini file.
Baldur’s Gate 2: works well and can be made to run at 1024×600 through the use of a mod, I had to disable hardware 3D due to curser lag/flickering though this is likely due to Vista.
December 20, 2008 at 7:20 pm #168487GhostfuryMemberGranda 2 for PC works almost fluid in Windows XP in the Windows 98/Me compatibilty-mode.
Septerra Core works like a charm.
Ys Oath in Felghana works super.
Age of Mythology works (first I got the initialization failed error, but after installing the xml parser and starting it up in safe mode, changing the resolution in to 800×600, everything works)Hitman: Contracts (no messages, just a second black screen and it went back to the windows desktop) in XP & Vista.
December 21, 2008 at 1:11 am #168531216363Memberso CS CZ is running slow huh… did you try in window mode maybe it’ll clean up a lil bit?
December 21, 2008 at 8:23 pm #168533jrdtunesMemberHow does the original command and conquer run, along with red alert 1?
How easy is it to edit the ini’s?
