Game Emulators – MAME, STeem

Hi,

I have a blue NC10 on order, I’m a fan of emulators and classic gaming and just wondered if anyone had tried many games with MAME or an Atari ST emulator such as STeem? I imagine they would be fine..

Anyone got any tips for classic games/emulators that work well here?

Can I just remind folks that discussing sourcing of ROMS illegally etc is against the forum rules. As if anyone here would do such a thing ;)!

Got my NC10 now and have tried lots or roms on both MAME and STEEM – works great if anyone is interested…

MAME32 runs great on xp.

Google up a few dedicated sites. The main problem is that most ROMS are still under copyright and therefore most sites (including this one!) will not permit how to source these.

For example, try starting here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAME

iirc the Atari ST ROMS are now public domain so that might be a good starting point? Software to run on the emulator may well be under copyright still although you should be able to Google up abandonware sites to find some.

MAME works properly? has anyone tried playing Street Fighter 3rd Strike on their NC10?

From what I’ve heard, Snes9x, FCE Ultra, Stella, and MAMEUI work perfectly.
