MemberI remember somebody had similar problem with his NC10 before.Mine acts really strange- sometimes screen starts flickering right after startup, sometimes after few hours of work and can continue for few minutes. Changing brightness hels sometime. I would grab it and go to the service center however I can not find the rule it happens- moving screen or shaking netbook a little doesn’t make screen flickering, and it starts without any user action, so it will be hard to demonstrate problem in the shop untill I stay all day and continiously start/stop. So, actualy I don’t know what to do

[/quote1236083802]I would just tell them that’s it an intermittent problem and they will have to take your word for it! How long ago did you buy it?

MemberHi, just came home and started Sammy- flickering again 🙁 I bought it in December, so 1 year warranty still valid, problem it stops flickering after a while and neve know if it will in the shop.I suggest screen connection problem?
And got normall behaviour 10 minutes later. It makes me crazyMarch 4, 2009 at 11:01 pm #185310fuzzo
Memberi had the same problem.
i think it was because the battery terminals were dirty.
i think that because i held the unit to my ear when it was acting up and i could hear the hard drive faulting. i assumed it was having power problems from the sound it was making. when i plugged in the power cord it stopped. i cleaned the battery terminals with alcohol and the flickering hasn’t happened since.

Memberif fuzzo’s method doesn’t work and you want to show the technician your problem, whenever you start up your computer, film the whole process of startup and usage afterwards using a digicam or videocamera.
8gb card should give you about an hour or so video recording or maybe even more if you set the resolution low.
I did this when my other laptop had an intermittent problem

MemberThanks for suggestions, yesterday downgraded from Win7 to XP(however was flickering within BIOS also), also changed back 2GB to 1GB RAM, and flickering showed for a while, so I prepped camera and flickering stopped. So now I just will clean battery contacts and try to record if I see it again
PS really smart netbook- doesn’t want to go to workshop 🙂March 5, 2009 at 12:02 pm #185308OlegGio
Memberforgot to ask, how you managed to clean battery contacts?hard to get to ones on the battery, since they are inside the casing?

MemberI had the same problem, it was still under warranty, I called them and sent it out for repair. I got it back in about 7 days, the replaced the screen. I asked them if the product was out of warranty what would be the cost? The screen cost more than the netbook itself, this is a common problem with the first generation samsung netbook.
