tried installing far cry on my nc10, set all options to low and turned off sound doppler effect the game runs but with choppy frame rates. its almost playable though so im going to keep on tweaking and see if i can get it to run smooth. maybe itl run better when i upgrade to 2 gigs of ram. on a side note does anybody know if we can increase the memory dedicated for the graphics? tried to see if there was an option in bios but couldnt find any
From what I understand, there is no way to increase the allocated video RAM. Members who have upgraded to 2Gb RAM and installed Vista have noticed the memory goes up to 256Mb, but there does not seem to be a way to force this in XP.
MSI Wind users have the option to set graphics memory in the bios (after a bios update) so it should be possible on the NC10 as its the same chipset? But whether Samsung will release a bios update for this is anyones guess. Maybe we should start sending some emails to Samsung?
Yep, hopefully there’ll be a bios update sometime soon with this feature and an overclocking / underclocking feature that the Wind also has.
Yep i’m crossing my fingers. The GPU speed on the GMA 950 will stay the same but I’m hoping a fixed VRAM amount will benefit some games. However the limit on the NC10 VRAM may be deliberate to increase battery life?
