MemberAfter searching for 2GB of ram (Posted in “Hacks and Mods” forum) and successfully purchasing the 2GB of Corsair ram I am now searching for an External DVD Drive.
Would be used to put games on and such (Games that require the CD to be in the drive upon loading it up).Any recommendations?…
Cheapest I found so far is: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?FRE-29510
I live about 20mins away from Novatech in Portsmouth so I can pick it up without having to pay for P&P. If anyone can beat this (Including P&P) then that would be great 😀November 26, 2008 at 3:34 pm #171653jez
MemberNice price. The only one I’ve heard people mention around here is a slimline LG that looks pretty slick – but at a price! I’m sure someone will have some more suggestions!
PS I fixed the link -> If you use the forum bbcode then you need to replace the “hyperlink url” with the hyperlink and then your anchor text goes between the tags. If you are just putting the link in with no change of anchor text then you can just paste it in and the CMS should make it into a link for you.

MemberI bought an official Samsung slimline drive for mine – I thought it would look better with a matching Samsung DVD unit: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CD-111-SA&groupid=701&catid=10&subcat=&name=Samsung%20SE-S084B/RSBN%208x%20DVD%B1RW%20External%20Slimline%20(Retail)

MemberI prefer the roundness of the LG in comparison to the Samsung model, but each to their own. Also, the LG is glossy so it matches quite the NC10 well. Is the Samsung glossy or matte? It’s hard to tell from the images I’ve seen online.

That’s interesting. It’s almost as if LG made the drive specifically for the NC10. Obviously this can’t be true, unless they saw into the future, as the LG drive has been available since last year. -
