Hi,
For anyone converting their DVDs or other videos to use on the NC10 on the move, have you picked a particular size or do you leave them at the default?
Being such a small screen it strikes me that you probably don’t benefit much by having very high resolution videos, and so could save space and maybe reduce resources & power required to play them back.
Any thoughts on this?
As a side note, any experience on battery life with video playback? Just wondering how much you could play back on a transatlantic flight.
I don’t convert my videos specifically for the NC10 but most of my XviD files are around the 640 x 480 mark which look pretty good. I get around 4.5 to 5 hours playback time on Normal power setting. If you are looking for longer battery life maybe buy an extra battery?
To be honest, even full DVD resolution (PAL or NTSC) doesn’t exceed 1024×600.
I think the only circumstance in which you’d want to downscale video to save battery life and processing power is when using 720p sources or higher.
I use the Handbrake’s default settings for the iPhone, since my iPhone and my NC10 are the two devices I most likely will play them back on.
