MemberHi
for some reason i cant get empire earth to run, it loads the into videos fine but when it attampts to load the main menu it crashes and just shows a black screen and you have to go to taskmanages to force quite the game, you do get an 0_error.txt file created in the games directirory but its black.
What iv tried:
– reinstalled windows xp using the recovery disks, still doesnt work
– preformed all the updates including NET frame and DirectX9
– tried googling for a solution for days with no luck
– Reinstalling empire earth and preforming all the updatesAny help would be appreciated as i realy want this game to run on my NC10
Thanks

MemberI remember buying Empire earth for my desktop PC and I had to take it back for the same/similar reason. The PC was way ahead of the required specs for the game.
You could try installing 3D Analyze: http://www.tommti-systems.com/main-Dateien/files.html
This is a useful tool for getting games to run. It is no longer supported as far as I know.

MemberI’ve yet to receive my NC10; however, I assume it has the usual Display Properties option in Control Panel – in Settings / Advanced / Monitor – if the Screen Refresh Rate is higher than 60, then try dropping it to 60.
Also, remember that you can Right-Click an exe file (ie the game exe) and then play with the Compatibility settings – ie force 640 x 480 resolution – run in 256 colours – run emulation for various versions of Windows (ie backgrade XP to Win95 etc)

MemberThe refresh rate is on 60 already, tried compatability
think it might be something to do with the graphics gma950 the netbook uses
i anyone can figure a way to play this game i would be very greatfullDecember 7, 2008 at 8:31 pm #170055Matais
