I would like to download Windows 7 from Microsoft so as to have a crapware free N110. Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so please provide a link to the download, I can’t find anywhere on their site for this.
The direct links to download Windows 7 from Microsoft are per person and accessible through sites such as Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA) and Digital River stores.
If you don’t have access to an account from a company, educational establishment or paid for the download, then as far as I’m aware there is no legitimate free download of Windows 7.
there is no legitimate free download of Windows 7.
You can download them from digital river, there are instructions at notebookreview.com:
I don’t see why this wouldn’t be legitimate, you still need a key to activate.
Interesting I thought the Digital River download links were per person.
Thanks very much for the replies – I’ll try the version at digital river (although at first glance it all looks a bit complicated).
Via, the link to digital river, further down the thread, there is a link to this page:
This has some direct links to the iso downloads, rather than having to create the iso from three separate files. I downloaded the windows 7 professional iso and put it on a thumb drive with the windows bootable usb tool.
By removing the file ei.cfg, the install will then ask you which version of windows you want to install (eg not just install windows7 professional). This allows you to install the version for which you have bought an activation key.
Nice one. Thank you for reporting back 🙂
