MemberTot’nam Court Rd electronic shops have the NC10 netbook but they are flying of the shelf faster than you can say ‘boo’.
Incidentally, the friendly salesman at the John Lewis flagship hadn’t a clue about the NC10.
All is not lost however, having checked with the John Lewis warehouse he declared that the Samsung NC10 netbooks will be in store by 1st week of december.November 21, 2008 at 4:39 pm #170030hef
Memberi’m not surprised these are selling out everywhere with places like trustedreviews.co.uk giving them 10/10 and being 30 – 50 cheaper thant he closest competitor (MSI Wind)…

MemberAnd I was reading Computer Mag today …they have given the Samsung NC10 the Gold Award for the best netbook …it seems Asus 1000H has lost the plot….
November 21, 2008 at 5:28 pm #170031hef
Memberi wouldn’t say lost the plot as such, but samsung seem to have just nailed the better balance between cost features and functionality.

Memberagreed – this was the first one that got the balance right. I had a few things on my wish list and I was always going to go for the first that got those things into one machine. Hello NC10!

Membertotally man. the only thing that’s missing is the3G or 3.5G, but that is purely because the UK is full of shit.

MemberThere’s a new voucher code ‘VAT3’, which reduces the value from £295.04 to £286.19. However, you also have the standard delivery cost of £4.84 to slap on top. An even better saving is on play.com, if you are a college student like me, use your ucas discount and get 5% off. Which means £284.99 instead of £299.99 plus free delivery. You might want to wait a few days since the VAT has been reduced to 15% and then use the ucas code because the prices have not changed on play’s website. But i’m also not sure if they are changing their prices because they are based in Jersey which is literally vat free, however they may drop their prices to compete with other retailers. Guess we’ll have to wait and see!
To sum it up
£291.03 at dixons delivery included in total price (VAT3 code)
£293.60 at pc world delivery included in total price (vat cut included at checkout)
£284.99 at play.com delivery is free (student 5% ucas discount) – may drop due to VAT cut not applied yet…November 26, 2008 at 12:27 pm #170024jez
MemberI’ve just been in touch with the guys who manage all this and got the following:
Quote:The new VAT code from Dixons has meant that all other codes are paused will this runs until Tuesday. However, it is highly likely these codes will be reinstated after expiry of the vat code.I will keep you updated!
To reiterate, use VAT3 when on the dixons site to get 3% off until December 2nd! After that I’m nost sure what will happen, perhaps the VAT change will be made standard and the codes will come back?

MemberIm hopefully going to head to a Dixons… or several tomorrow in the hope of finding one. Completely undecided on colour. But I see PC world seems to have increased their prices to Currys one…. so… Dixons it is. I would order online… but well… i’m impatient! haha
PS: Hi everyone
Edited to say…. what??? theres no Dixons shops anymore?? Where on earth have I been?? Is that right or is my OH just trying to get out of his taxi-ing duties? lol

Memberof course dixons has raised their price to £310, so the code now just brings it down to….. normal!
(though still cheaper than the now £330 that most places are charging)
November 30, 2008 at 12:44 pm #170034Theo
MemberCurrently till midnight Sunday 30th November the offer is a 5% discount, but the price is currently £310 + £5 delivery. You can get 2% discount cash back from topcash so the price would work out at circa £295

MemberDixon’s have another discount day on Wednesday 3rd December with offers changing on an hourly basis, last time 4 – 5 p.m. was a 5% discount off anything
