This may be a silly question but I cant wok out if the Digital Motion Camera has a protective film over it as the screen and cover did on purchase.
The way it looks in the light to me suggests there is one but I cant peel it off.
Am i seeing something that isnt there?
Thanks in advance!
I don’t remember peeling anything off the camera when my NC10 was new.
No, don’t peel it of the only plastic you had to remove is the piece you have removed already. The plastic you see is to cover your webcam.
Kinda of a related question:
Is the camera really good for anything? Video web chat, or something like that?
The webcam that came with the nc10 is really bad. The frame rate is like 10fps-15fps. Lots of blur and unusable. The dell and msi webcam has 30fps and is really smooth.
But I guess you can still use it for video web chat. Its okay for that, but even then, the audio is way off.
My cam audio sounds great. The cam is indeed at slow rates but that makes the files smaller.
I just realized this wa sin the wrong forum! i have and nc20…sorry
ok, so this might be an even more stupid question, but i’ve searched everywhere!!
How do I switch the camera on?
i open the youcam software and it says theres nothing connected, theres also nothing under ControlPanel>Scanners adn Cameras
but nothing in device manager shows up not having a driver
Also, I’ve ran XP updates adn the samsung update
any help appriciated
I imagine it is similar for all models? But on the NC10 there is a webcam app supplied (I forget its name?) that allows you to take snapshots and record video. There is a short cut on the default desktop iirc.
You can also use it with eg MSN and it should just work.
The cam is not great, but it isn’t bad for waving to your long lost friend in Australia from time to time. You wouldn’t want to make a movie with it but I don’t think anyone is going to try that ;)!
Go to ‘My Computer’, the camera is listed there along with the drives, click on that.
My cam works fine for video chat using MSN or Skype, and at 1.3 MP it is better than the 0.3 MP offerings on some other netbooks.
