Strider
MemberHaving decided to clean the finger prints from my black NC10, I noticed that the left hand chrome strip (above the RJ45 socket) was slightly raised and not as flush as the rest of the strip but creaks if pushed. It doesn’t stick out past the plastic of the chasis but now I have noticed it, it is a pain in the ar*e.
Has anyone else noticed a similar ‘feature’ with the chrome strips on the left/right of your Sammy?
Cheers from a very fussy Strider:)

MemberNot on my blue one, but you are right it sounds like a pain in the ar*se.

MemberTo be honest, I would have been more narked if my screen had some of the ‘halo’ effects that I have seen (particularly on blue models in Currys)

MemberThankfully, I don’t seem to have that either. Though I can’t believe they are reserved just for blue ones. Maybe its just for Curry’s.

MemberI had 2 blue NC10s from Currys, both had these horrible ‘halo’ effects on their screens. Suffice to say I decided to opt for the black as there were no white ones available

[/quote1228858860]If you still want a blue one I can recommend Dixons they seem to have the blue with non halo effect screens.

MemberI will see how the chrome edging is over the next few days. If it doe not get any worse then I will put up with it. As I said earlier there have been plenty of worse things to be wrong with the machine (duff screen, battery, hard drive, power pack etc)

MemberTake it back and get a blue one from Dixons, you know you will be happier.

MemberMine moves when you push it in but its not visibly raised at all. Its a little annoying but nothing Ill worry about.

MemberWell, the bloody chrome strip got caught on my bag and started coming off. I took my NC10 back to Currys and whinged about Sale of Goods Act and they gave me a new black one (boxed in China on 19 November). The speakers seem remarkably better than my old one and all of the drivers are current (as per the d/l site). The only anomaly is the fact it still has the old bios.
Hey-ho, I still got a new machine:)
