Just wondering if its a bad idea to use these netbooks while still in the various aftermarket cases and covers available for them? I read somewhere that they are designed to run on a hard surface. It would seem using them in one of the various aftermarket carry cases would obstruct the cooling vents significantly…
would this void the warranty?seems this vests from left SIDE as opposed to my Aspire one which vented left BOTTOM. So maybe not important???
Some cases are specifically designed for permanent use (Vaja etc) but these are model specific & have matching cutouts for the vents/inlets.
In general I would think that any other type of case is not designed for use whilst the laptop is on.
The NC10 has inlets on the base & front, the exhaust is on the LHS. For this reason I would be very wary of using it sat on top of a cushion, pillow etc or indeed any case that obstructs inlets etc..
As to whether it would affect your warranty? Quite possibly, BUT only if you tell them you killed it by obstructing the flow of air, or return it to them still wearing a case that isn’t suitable for use NC10 when it is switched on.
