A similar question was answered about using a cell phone with bluetooth to access the internet, but I wanted to see if anyone has done with with a blackberry. I have internet and phone service on the blackberry, and would use a dongle if necessary but would prefer bluetooth. If this is possible please post directions. Thanks.

ok well first connect your phone to the NC10,
then set it to always allow connection and then right click the bluetooth icon, select quick connect then dial up networking
My phone doesn’t allow it but this is howe i’v always done it..
Your blackberry might of come with software for this that can connect through bluetooth..
Let us now how you get on!December 15, 2008 at 9:02 pm #171715PugriderMember
Update: I wanted to let everyone know that after several attempts at using the BB Desktop software I went ahead and downloaded the free trial of the Mobishark software:
At first that wasn’t looking very promising either, but then everything came together and I now have it working on my NC10. Installation isn’t that hard, and will be even easier now that I have made all of the mistakes!
You will need to download the latest version of BB Desktop Manager, which updates the software (through a tether) on your BB as well. Use the same tether to load the Mobishark software onto your BB. You then update a few settings on your web browser and then make the Bluetooth connection.
The connection is not via dial-up, and while not blazingly fast, beats nothing or paying an outrageous hotel connection fees.
After the free trial period the software costs $49.99. They do have site licenses available if this is something of wider interest to your company.
With all the talk of 3G I am very happy to have a free internet connection Please note that my BB is supplied through work and has an unlimited data plan. If you do this with your personal BB make sure you check what rates apply.
Let me know if there is an interest in having me post details beyond what comes with the Mobishark software.
