Curious if anyone has experienced these issues after coming out of standby (from closing lid) sometimes my connections disappear from the start menu & trying to open an audio file triggers an error that there is no sound device. Looking in the sound setting shows this too even though I can still hear windows sounds. Not sure what else may be affected, but I end up having to reboot to reset everything.
Another scary problem which I hope hasn’t permanently done damage was after closing the lid & putting the NC10 in my bag only to discover over an hour later that is was still on! It was very warm…
Not to mention my screen is a bit uneven in lighting at the bottom. Really disappointed for what is touted as the best netbook so far.

Was it like this from new or has it only started happening recently? Have you tried system restore or the Samsung Recovery Solution?
Failing that do a clean OS install or return the netbook as faulty?
Let us know how you get on.
December 17, 2008 at 12:17 am #175933youthMemberYea I’m suspect of the quality control on this model now as I actually bought two. The first one had a dead battery & the 2nd one a dirty screen with a very minor scratch near one corner & creaks at the silver strip. I ended up keeping the 1st one with it’s uneven screen issues & just swapped the battery. Didn’t return both because I save $125 off the retail $499 price. These were from buy.com in the US.
I don’t have much installed atm so the next step will be to do some sort of restore. This is an annoying problem, but since I have not seen any other post here about this then hopefully it’s something that a recovery/update will fix.

It seems that by going into standby or hibernating while my bluetooth DUN connection was active screwed up the OS somehow after coming back on. Made a habit to manually disconnect BT DUN now before sleeping or hibernating & haven’t experienced the issue again so far. Not sure if other BT devices cause the same reaction.
Appreciate is anyone else using BT DUN could test this out & see if you experience the same problems.
